Parish Council Vacancy
HOLME ON SPALDING MOOR PARISH COUNCIL
PARISH COUNCIL VACANCY
Holme on Spalding Moor Parish Council has a complement of 13 Parish Councillors. Recently a vacancy has become available. An election has not been called and permission has been given by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council to fill this vacancy by co-option.
Co-option means that residents put their names forward to be Parish Councillors and the current Parish Councillors will decide at a Parish Council meeting who to co-opt.
If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor please contact the Clerk to express that interest. Please also provide a short supporting note providing some background information about yourself and saying why you wish to be considered.
The deadline for receipt of expressions of interest is Friday 12 July 2024. All expressions of interest will then be sent to existing Parish Councillors and will be on the agenda for the Parish Council meeting on Wednesday 24 July 2024. At this meeting Parish Councillors will decide who to co-opt. This decision will be based on a discussion with short-listed candidates. The powers of co-opted Parish Councillors are the same as elected Parish Councillors.
If you would like to find out more about the role of Parish Councillor please contact The East Riding of Yorkshire Council (01482 393939 and ask for Electoral Services), the Clerk, or any Parish Councillor (details on the Parish Council website).
